This semester, we learned a lot of stuff. For example, we learned about Stephen Glass, a former U.S. journalist who came to prominence when it was discovered that he had fabricated a number of magazine articles in 1998. He made fake notes, fake stories, and lied a lot. Also, we learned about leads and headlines. How to figure out where in the article you can find the lead. There are also many types of leads: Scene Setting, Startling Statement, Blind Lead, Round Up, & Direct Message.
We did this one assignment when we read nursery rhymes and try to figure out what the lead was. "There Was An Old Woman Who Lived In A Shoe" who's lead was a mother of seven who lives in a shoe and barely feeds her children and beats her children then puts them to bed. Right now, we are currently using our blogs from last year again and updating it with stuff from this year.
